Silvia Tomova
SILVIA TOMOVA has graduated Vaganova State Academy in Saint Petergburg, Russia. Her successful carrier is rooted with her long experience as a principal ballerina of Bulgarian National Opera and Ballet. Silvia has performed more than 90 leading roles in classical and neoclassical ballet. She will remain famous for Odetta – Odilia – “Swan lake”, Mirta – “Giselle”, Margarita Gautier -“Lady of the Camellias”, Demna – “Fire dancer” and many others.
She take part in different TV productions and movies. Silvia Tomova has been awarded as laureate of International ballet competitions in Varna, Osaka, Paris and Moscow and further more she was judging in many International Ballet competitions in Paris, Luxembourg, Perm, Varna and Dobrich. She used to work as assistant-choreographer with George Yanku, Mario Piazza, Fredi Franzutti, Carla Fracci, and as s choreographer for Juelietta Kanalupi and Kristina Gyurova.
From 1996 she is chairman of National Committee for Dance and Art – Bulgaria which part of UNESCO monuments. Silvia has been developing as teacher still a principal dancer herself. Her students won prestigious awards and succeed on highest level on different international stages. Silvia was artistic director of Bulgarian National Ballet from 2003 to 2008. From 2005 she is a chairman of the Bulgarian Ballet Association where she worked on promoting new dancers and young artists in dance, music and art. Silvia is working actively with Italian companies combining co-choreographing, judging and creating. Her own creations and works are highly appreciated by the audience.
